Cindy Lay - President

​

Cindy Lay has been with the University of Tennessee for 19 years, currently as an Administrative Specialist III in Extension Evaluation and Staff Development. She served on various IAAP Knoxville Chapter committees and held various chapter board positions, including President. Cindy obtained her CAP certification in 2007 and Administrative Professional Certification in 2019. She enjoys spending time with her husband, Dusty, and daughter, Presley. Cindy volunteers at Presley’s school when possible and currently serves as President of the PTO (Parent Teacher Organization). She is looking forward to serving on the OPT Board!

Danette Higdon - Treasurer

​

Danette Higdon is proud to serve Office Professionals of Tennessee this year as your Secretary. Danette has 30 years of administrative experience starting as a Foundry Clerk to her current position as Executive Assistant and Office Manager. She joined IAAP in 2006 and OPT in 2015. She has served on numerous committees and in various offices in both organizations. Danette received her CAP-OM designation in 2008 and recertified in 2013, 2018, and 2023. Professional development and networking with others has been key to her success. She is also a notary and a Ham Radio operator.

Janet Miles - Secretary

​Janet is retired from the University of Tennessee as a Project Manager, IT and Digital Innovation.  Janet has been involved in IAAP and OPT for many years and has a wealth of experience to share.
